ikea: the art of cooking videos

Pardon me if I've mentioned it before, but I love what Chef Michael Smith had to say about food presentation and plating techniques at a book signing, "Of course your food is never going to look like mine. My mashed potatoes have a whole crew spritzing it with olive oil and setting up backlighting on the plate."

It feels good to know that expectations for home cuisine are more reasonable, but these Art of Cooking videos from IKEA will have you wanting your dinner party prep to look like Scandinavian dance party videos.

Counter to the food-lust photography of impeccable finished products in most cookbooks, these videos and the accompanying IKEA cookbooks available in store, place emphasis on the ingredients. The series is by Carl Kleiner in collaboration with Eric Severin and Evelina Bratell for IKEA, and made possible by Forsman & Bodenfors.

Bon appetit!
